Celebrate the 20th anniversary of HELLBOY (2004) and the future of the Northwest Museum of Cartoon Arts! All proceeds from this benefit screening go toward NWMOCA's mission to build a museum celebrating the artform. Join them after the film for an engaging panel discussion on the world of Hellboy, moderated by Mike Russell (The Sabertooth Vampire, The Uninventor, Dark Horse Presents) with Hellboy comics artists and writers Michael Avon Oeming (Eisner, Harvey and Eagle award winning artist and co-creator of Powers) and Chris Roberson (co-creator of iZombie).
Directed by Guillermo Del Toro and based on the Dark Horse Comics series by Mike Mignola, HELLBOY begins at the end of World War II as Rasputin and the Nazis attempt to open a portal to a paranormal dimension but instead summon a red, baby demon with horns dubbed "Hellboy" (Ron Perlman). Sixty years later, Hellboy serves under his adoptive father (John Hurt) as an agent in the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, where he, Abe Sapien (Doug Jones), a merman with psychic powers, and Liz Sherman (Selma Blair), a woman with pyrokinesis, protects the world from dark forces.
