The Fog

Series: On This Day

"One hundred years ago, on the 21st of April, out in the waters around Spivey Point, a small clipper ship drew toward land. Suddenly, out of the night, the fog rolled in..."

On April 21st -- "Fog Day" -- celebrate John Carpenter and Debra Hill's 1980 supernatural slasher with a new 4K restoration!

It's been forty-four years since the film was released and a hundred and forty-four years since that fateful night the clipper ship met the fog in the waters around Spivey point (damning the townsfolk of fictional Antonio Bay to a centennial slasher-cycle of glow-eyed undead fog pirates out for history's revenge).

Adrienne Barbeau leads the iconic cast (including Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Atkins, Janet Leigh and Hal Holbrook) as radio DJ Stevie Wayne. We gather to celebrate the film and mourn those who lost their cinematic lives in 1980!

"Highly original blend of bare bones folk tale horror and metaphor. The film works like JC's scores, by spare rhythmic punctuation." -- Guillermo del Toro
