90 Second Newbery Film Festival

Free event!

The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is a yearly video contest in which kid filmmakers create weird short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery award-winning books in about 90 seconds.

The screening is hosted by film festival founder and children's author James Kennedy ("The Order of Odd-Fish") along with author Keir Graff ("Matchstick Castle") with special co-host, Portland's own Dale Basye ("Heck: Where the Bad Kids Go").

The movies we've received are hilarious, ingenious, and inspiring. We'll be showing movies received from Portland and the best from around the the country!
