Bridget Jones's Diary (archive)

Series: Isn't She Great

Isn’t She Great kicks off a New Year of hysterically funny women with BRIDGET JONES’S DIARY! Hosted by comedian Elizabeth Teets and Queer Horror’s Anthony Hudson, this special presentation opens with stand-up comedy from LA’s Anna Valenzuela (Comedy Central’s Roast Battle)!

Based on the book by Helen Fielding and directed by Sharon Maguire, BRIDGET JONES’S DIARY (2001) finds self-described London “singleton” Bridget (Renée Zellweger, in an Academy Award-nominated performance) navigating dating and her professional life over the course of a year. A modern spin on PRIDE & PREJUDICE, Bridget finds herself choosing between bad boy Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) or the aptly-named Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), all while trying to keep up with her mother, her best friends, and a new career as a TV personality – plus late nights spent eating cheese and lip-syncing Celine Dion – in this hilarious and refreshing twist on romantic comedies.
