Bring It On

Series: Isn't She Great

This is part of Feminist March 2024

Isn't She Great celebrates women in comedy and Feminist March with BRING IT ON (2000)! Co-hosted by Elizabeth Teets and Anthony Hudson, this special edition opens with stand up by Zahnae Aquino (Seattle).

Written by Jessica Bendinger, BRING IT ON stars Kirsten Dunst (in the same year as DICK, DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, and THE VIRGIN SUICIDES) as Torrance, the newly-elected captain of the Toros cheerleading squad at Rancho Carne High School. The Toros are set to take the national championship for the sixth year in a row when Torrance learns their routines were stolen from the Clovers, a hip-hop squad from East Compton, led by Isis (Gabrielle Union). Co-starring Eliza Dushku and Jesse Bradford, BRING IT ON is funny, smart in its tackling of cultural appropriation, and was such a mega-hit that it inspired six direct-to-video sequels—including a slasher film!
