The late special FX artist John Carl Buechler (TROLL, GHOULIES III) helmed this wild seventh installment in the Friday the 13th franchise, starring a hulking (and occasionally burning) Kane Hodder in his first role as the mindless manifestation of masked rage, Jason Voorhees. Lar Park Lincoln is Tina Shepard, a young woman with latent telekinetic powers, who accidentally unleashes a zombified Jason from his watery grave at the bottom of Crystal Lake through a plot device that is so convoluted all we can do is cheer when he stumbles across a cabin full of annoying and highly disposable teenage stereotypes. Often described as Carrie vs. Jason, FRIDAY THE 13th PART VII somehow manages to be hilarious, scary and bloody fun despite the MPAA hacking all of the gore scenes out of the final theatrical print. Don’t miss this rare 35mm print on the big screen…on the only night that matters…Friday the 13th, 2023!
Kane Hodder will join Wyrd War’s Dennis Dread on stage to discuss his career as a stuntman and the only actor to portray Jason Voorhees in four consecutive films. He will also be available for photos and signings after the film.
