The Hollywood Theatre is proud to present the weekend engagement House of Price – two nights of Vincent Price classics in 35mm with Price’s own daughter, the author and public speaker Victoria Price, in attendance! On Friday, March 1 at 7 PM, witness 1959’s bone-chilling William Castle spectacle HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL in 35mm; then, on Saturday, March 2 at 7 PM, see if you can survive 1953’s HOUSE OF WAX in 35mm! Both screenings will be followed by a Q & A and signing with Victoria Price, who will speak to her father’s life and work and their time together.
In 1959’s HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, millionaire Frederick Loren (Vincent Price) invites five strangers to a haunted mansion in celebration of his fourth wife (Carol Ohmart) Annabelle’s birthday, with the stipulation that each will take home $10,000 if they stay alive ‘til sunrise in the ghoulish manor! Originally presented in “Emergo,” in which a skeleton was flown over the audience during the film, both the success of William Castle’s low-budget horror film and his showman advertising style directly influenced Alfred Hitchcock’s production and marketing for PSYCHO.
Hollywood member presale begins Monday, February 11 at 12pm; ticketing opens to the general public on Wednesday, February 13 at 12pm. Member guest passes will not be accepted.
