Saturday, May 14 at 7:00pm | $15
NW Animation Fest's parade of
astonishing short films continues on Saturday night with a second collection of
this year's very best works. Selected from 1300 submissions, the evening
includes remarkable stories from France, Poland, Argentina, Thailand, and more.
Watch as national boundaries fall away, and the reign of unfettered imagination
begins.
Here's some of what you'll see:
After nearly electrocuting himself during a
high school frog dissection, a boy fantasizes about using his godlike powers to
bend the world to his will. A space-faring postal worker attempts to deliver
the tiniest package in the universe to a planet of microscopic aliens. Two
ancient women meet at the baths for their ritual swim, but this time they are
diving to unexpected depths. Seven diminutive bank-robbers accidentally take on
a feisty hostage while escaping with a fabulous treasure; as the band takes
refuge in a forest hideaway, we begin to recognize the contemporary
reincarnation of an old and familiar fairy tale.
(180 minutes, two short
intermissions. Some mature themes.)
