Jailhouse Rock

Series: Cinema Classics

Most screenings are currently at 75% capacity. Some screenings will be at 100% and, if so, the page for that event will note that. Concessions will be available. Masks are required while in all common areas, including in your seat when not actively eating or drinking.

For our September Cinema Classics screenings, we’re proud to present JAILHOUSE ROCK in 35mm. The screening on 9/5 is free for Hollywood Theatre members.

In his third film, Elvis Presley is Vince Everett, a guy in the pen for manslaughter. His cellmate, Hunk Houghton (Mickey Shaughnessy) is a former country star who introduces him to the record business. Once the King is released, he meets music promoter Judy Tyler, with whom he forms a record company, and records a song that becomes an overnight sensation.  As he rises to the top as a rock ‘n’ roll singer, will he remember the folks who got him there?
