Mystery Train in 35mm

Series: S.I.N. Sunday

A 35mm print of Jim Jarmusch's 1989 classic! For this screening, tickets are $7 for OLCC and food handlers' cardholders (cards will be checked at the box office).

Teenage Japanese tourists, a frazzled Italian widow, and a disgruntled British immigrant all converge in Memphis, at a hotel managed by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. Jarmusch's trio of stories pays playful tribute to the home of Stax Records, Sun Studio, Graceland, Carl Perkins, and, of course, the King, who presides over the film like a spirit. Mystery Train is one of Jarmusch’s very best movies, a pilgrimage to an iconic American ghost town and a tribute to the music it gave to the world.
