Repo Man (archived)

Series: Mississippi Records Music & Film

Mississippi Records presents the ultimate punk rock/sci fi B-movie! REPO MAN follows Otto (Emilio Estevez) - a young punk having an existential crisis after he loses his job, goes broke, is betrayed by his best friend and after his girlfriend dumps him to go on a crime spree (robbing, killing and  ordering sushi and not paying for it). Otto finds his salvation in a job repossessing cars. He comes under the sway of his wise street smart co-workers (including Harry Dean Stanton in one of his most iconic performances) and learns to live by a higher code of ethics than the mere law of the state. Soon, Otto is mixed up in a chase for the ultimate "MacGuffin" - a Chevy Malibu with a cosmic presence in its trunk that could save or destroy the world.

REPO MAN features the greatest punk soundtrack imaginable (Black Flag! The Plugz! Iggy Pop!), the most quotable grand sweeping soliloquies in cinema history on everything from John Wayne's sexual proclivities to the meaning of life, the stinkiest/best LA punk atmosphere, and maybe the greatest ending of all time to a movie. If you have not seen it, it's a must. If you have seen it, a revisit will do you a world of good.
