Repressed Cinema: Legacy of Horror
Repressed Cinema presents a 16mm print of low budget auteur Andy Milligan’s 1978 film LEGACY OF HORROR.
There was only one condition the three feuding Handley sisters had to meet in order to inherit their father’s massive estate. They had to spend three days and nights in harmony at the family mansion on a private island, where they are met by the caretakers—a sub-human male and his two sisters. Almost immediately they are subjected to sinister blood stains, strange symbolic ceremonial artifacts, and a series of ominous events which lead them to fear that occult forces are at work. Soon, a reign of terror and death begins, finally revealing the sordid secret of Handley Mansion in a sudden, surprise twist. A strange and brutally haunting tale, this is a great opportunity to see a Milligan film on the big screen along with rare pre show material…
Special guest Jimmy McDonough (Any Milligan’s official biographer) will be in attendance, and will be saying a bit about Milligan to get us all in the mood for the film, and answer any questions you may have. Jimmy is the author of The Ghastly One: The Sex-Gore Netherworld of Filmmaker Andy Milligan. He’s also the author of Tammy Wynette: Tragic Country Queen, and Big Bosoms and Square Jaws: The Biography Russ Meyer. Bring your copy of The Ghastly One if you would like it signed!
