ROMAN HOLIDAY (1953): Overwhelmed by her suffocating schedule, touring European princess Ann (Hepburn) escapes her overly protective entourage for a night on the town in Rome. When a sedative administered by her doctor kicks in, however, she falls asleep on a public park bench, where she’s found by American reporter Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck), who assumes she’s drunk and takes her back to his apartment for safety. The next morning, Joe discovers Ann’s true identity and makes a bet with his editor that his exclusive interview with the princess will be the scoop of a lifetime for them both. To Ann, he feigns ignorance of her regal identity and whisks her off for a day of sightseeing across the Eternal City—but will the blossoming romance between them interfere with his proposed payday?
