The Host in 35mm

Series: The Portland EcoFilm Festival

From the acclaimed director of PARASITE, SNOWPIERCER, and the highly anticipated MICKEY 17 comes a masterpiece of comedic eco-horror presented on 35mm film in the main auditorium of the historic Hollywood Theatre!

An American military scientist orders his Korean assistant to dump hundreds of bottles of formaldehyde down a drain leading into the Han River. Over the next several years, there are sightings of a strange amphibious creature in the waterway, and the fish in the river die off. A huge monster emerges from the river and terrorizes Seoul. Will the American military clean up its own mess? Of course not; it’s up to ordinary people to unite and stop the creature.
