The votes have been tallied, and the popular vote wins! For this month’s This Is Your Theatre screening, a winner has been crowned in TRADING PLACES. The John Landis comedy classic will screen on Sunday, December 18 at 7:00pm. More than 100 tickets have been purchased, so this screening is officially on! Tickets purchased to date: 127 out of 100.
TRADING PLACES (1983): Mortimer (Don Ameche) and Randolph Duke (Ralph Bellamy) are wealthy brothers and commodity brokers who love to bicker and wager with each other. In the latest round, Randolph bets Mortimer that they can take a common criminal and make him one of the most successful businessmen in their company. They pluck street hustler Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy) from his life of crime and set him up with the job and home of their employee, Harvard-educated Louis Winthorpe III (Dan Aykroyd), who in turn is set up for crimes he didn’t commit to see if he resorts to crime once he’s lost his rich environment and friends.
