Wanda

A restoration of Barbara Loden's 1970 groundbreaking independent masterpiece.

Living in a dreary Rust Belt town, Wanda (Barbara Loden) is directionless and futureless, drifting between dingy bars and drab motels. She leaves her husband, loses custody of her children, and begins tagging along with a petty criminal on the run. He's desperate and abusive, but Wanda, accepting her fate, is roped into his next criminal scheme. Written/directed by and starring Barbara Loden, and shot in an intensely intimate vérite style.
