Emmy award winner David Ono anchors the No. 1-rated newscasts on ABC7 in Los Angeles. He and co-producer Jeff MacIntyre has produced a new, fresh, and beautifully edited one hour documentary on the Japanese internment during WWII. Heart Mountain is a spectacular and beautiful backdrop to a story of triumph and tragedy in Wyoming. This is a story of passion, despair, anger, and re-birth as shown through the personal stories and the remarkable unearthed photos taken by the Hirahara Family there. Last year's 30 minute version received rave reviews throughout the country and a panel discussion will follow with the producers and Patti Hirahara.
All proceeds will go directly to support programs at the
Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center
, a Japanese American history museum located in Old Town/Chinatown.
